We Need to Talk About Manon

I wanted to shout about this gorgeous girl in my long over due blog post.

It has been far too long since I wrote my last Voyager update! Thank you to those who have been able to keep up with our journey via the newsletter or over on Instagram. It was quite manic leading up to the launch and after receiving the first bulk of orders from my wonderful customers.

The past few days I have been able to take some time to reflect and consider ways in which I can reach other intrepid explorers to join us all in the Voyager.London journey.

For those of us here in the UK, the governments announcement of the roadmap out of lockdown has been hugely anticipated. After seeing so little of anyone for so long, I have already bookmarked many dates for reunions with all my favourite people. Holidays are looking more possible and I’m sure we can’t wait to get out there. I have never had such serious feelings of wanderlust in my life!

It might seem like a ways off with the unpredictable British weather, but Summer is just around the corner and I am sure it will creep up on us all. I wanted to take the opportunity to talk about Manon. The dress. Not my wonderful cousin who it’s named after (this time!).

If anyone has been keeping up with H&M then you have likely been coveting the Simone Rocha collaboration that was released this week. I have been developing the SS21 collection since last October and eyed a particular style from the H&M x Simone Rocha designer collaboration that has a very similar sleeve and ruffle as my Manon Dress. Although Voyager.London is all about creating timeless pieces to cherish for years to come, I am glad to see I have still got it! My design process doesn't follow trends so much as it follows my research into historical dress and my personal aesthetic.

The Manon Mini Dress in White Floral

She is online now and available to order. All the Voyager.London garments are handmade to order by me, with a timeframe of around 2-4weeks before you will be united. That’s worth keeping in mind as Summer creeps up on us, as I will always do my best to get the orders to you. If I reach max. capacity I do need to close the site for orders till I am able to take on more.

Manon’s features:

  • Babydoll style mini dress.
  • Longer length in the back, to have you covered!
  • Ruffle sleeve head.
  • Puff sleeve with cuff.
  • Shaped front and back yokes that are fully lined.
  • Pockets, as standard in all our dresses!
  • Ruffle tier at dress hem.
  • Pull overhead with a tie at the back neck.

Customisation is of course an option - I have made longer length midi and maxi versions.
